COVID-19 Protocols for Artists and Audiences

THEATREX seeks to create a safe environment for artists and audience members, alike. As the COVID crisis continues, albeit in a diminished capacity, we are still taking measures to mitigate risks to our artists and audiences. In the event that the public health situation worsens, additional precautionary measures will be taken, depending on key metrics such as Test Positivity Rate, Community Transmission Rate, and Hospitalization Rate. Additional measures will be staggered to include mandatory masking, increased social distancing, required regular testing, reduction or elimination of in-person rehearsal time, and cancellation if necessary.

AUDITIONS:
We will be holding virtual auditions for the foreseeable future.

VACCINATIONS:
*We are asking all eligible individuals to be fully vaccinated (completed course of vaccine doses + 2 weeks) if they are going to be involved with our productions as a performer or behind the scenes. Individuals will be asked to disclose proof of vaccination by the time any Callbacks take place or before an offer is made.

REHEARSALS:
*Because performances of THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW will take place outdoors, we plan for a mix of outdoor and indoor rehearsals, with virtual rehearsals held as back-up.
*Care will be taken to minimize close contact between individuals.
*items/props that must be handled by multiple individuals will be disinfected between handlings. If it does not seem as though the item may be thoroughly  disinfected, we will identify alternate methods of usage to mitigate risk.
*If any individuals in the production identify as being in a high-risk category for becoming seriously ill due to COVID-19, masks will be worn by all individuals when rehearsing indoors.
*Individuals are expected to monitor their health for any symptoms that could indicate COVID-19 infection. In the event an individual is symptomatic, they will not be allowed to attend rehearsal in person - but may be required to attend rehearsal virtually.
*Individuals who present with symptoms consistent with COVID-19 are expected to receive a COVID-19 test. A negative test and the requisite waiting time following symptoms will be required in order to return to in-person rehearsals.
*Individuals who have received a positive test for COVID-19 and are still within the recommended self-isolation period, or who have been exposed to an individual with COVID-19 and are still within the quarantine period, will not be allowed to attend rehearsals in-person or performances. In the event someone in the cast or otherwise associated with the production tests positive for COVID-19, rehearsals will convert to virtual and all individuals in the production who may have been exposed will be expected to receive COVID-19 tests and will quarantine for the requisite period before resuming in-person rehearsals.

PERFORMANCES:
Our outdoor setting for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow helps reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, however we still have a few basic requests for our audience members.
*Masks are optional for vaccinated individuals. If you have not been vaccinated, please wear a mask - it adds a little extra layer of protection for everyone, even when outdoors.
*Wash your hands/use hand sanitizer.
*If you are not feeling well (especially if you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19), if you have received a positive test for COVID-19 and are still within the recommended self-isolation period, or if you have been exposed to an individual with COVID-19 and are still within the quarantine period, STAY HOME. If any of these scenarios arise, let us know and we'll work with you on options for your tickets.
