THEATREX is pleased to announce that an original company-created adaptation of Washington Irving's classic The Legend of Sleepy Hollow will be performed October 1-3, 2021 outdoors at the North Suburban Center for the Arts at the Banfill-Locke House - a historic 1847 inn and farmhouse located in Manomin Park in Fridley, MN - providing the perfect setting for this spooky/silly autumn tale.
Audience members will be able to choose from two performance options.
Evening performances will require some movement by the audience as the production will move between two outdoor locations, guided by company members.
Daytime matinees will not require movement by the audience, making it more accessible to individuals with limited mobility or poor night vision. The matinees will also be a little less spooky.
MORE PERFORMANCE DETAILS
*THIS IS AN OUTDOOR PERFORMANCE - Please dress appropriately for the weather. The performance will continue as planned if there is light-medium rain or snow. If there is heavy precipitation and/or thunder/lightning or severe weather alerts that affect the Fridley area, the performance may be held for up to 30 minutes or cancelled at the discretion of the production staff. If severe inclement weather is present 1 hour prior to showtime and it does not appear as though it will cease in order for the show to begin within 30 minutes of its scheduled start time, the show will be cancelled and ticket-holders will be notified by email and notices will be posted to our Facebook page. In the event of a cancelled performance, ticket-holders will be given the option to reschedule for a rain date the following weekend, to receive a refund, or to convert their ticket to a donation to the North Suburban Center for the Arts. If needed, Rain Dates will take place the weekend of Oct 8-10.
*COVID-19 Safety: Our outdoor setting helps reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, however we still have a few basic requests for our audience members.
-Masks are optional for vaccinated individuals. If you have not
been vaccinated, please wear a mask - it adds a little extra layer
of protection for everyone, even when outdoors.
-Wash your hands/use hand sanitizer.
-If you are not feeling well (especially if you have symptoms
consistent with COVID-19), if you have received a positive test
for COVID-19 and are still within the recommended self-
isolation period, or if you have been exposed to an individual
with COVID-19 and are still within the quarantine period,
STAY HOME. If any of these scenarios arise, let us know and
we'll work with you on options for your tickets.
*ALLOW TIME FOR PARKING. Limited parking is available on-site at the North Suburban Center for the Arts. Additional parking may be available on the Hartman Circle entrance to Manomin Park, located on the opposite side of the park from the NSCA.
*Please bring a lawn chair, camping chair, blanket, etc. SEATING IS NOT PROVIDED. Attendees will be able to place their seating within a given area. Seating will begin 15 minutes prior to showtime.
*Please notify us in advance if you require accommodations for mobility or other needs. We are offering two matinee performances that will not require movement by the audience during the show.
*Evening performances will be at least partially in the dark and will require movement through part of Manomin Park during and after the show. Movement will be guided by performance personnel with lights. However, we recommend bringing flashlights or battery-powered lanterns to aid your movement in the dark. If walking through a park in the dark by flashlight could pose a problem for you, we recommend getting tickets to one of our daylight matinee performances that do not require movement by the audience.
*All ticket sales are considered final, with the exception of performance cancellations due to severe weather. If you are not able to attend a scheduled performance and notify us at least 24 hours in advance, we can work with you to reschedule for a different performance or to convert your ticket to a donation to the North Suburban Center for the Arts. Refunds may be offered if a cancellation is necessary due to extraordinary circumstances. Refunds are not available if a cancellation is made within 24 hours of the scheduled performance.
